The Koofr offers two ways to sign up: Google and email. We chose Google, and to our surprise, our Google Drive account was not linked, when we logged in.
There is a link to Privacy policy at the main screen, and according to it, Koofr will keep our personal info safe, and will not give them away to 3rd parties. Also, the files that are uploaded to Koofr server are safe. Still, they do not say how they handle the tokens that they get from the cloud services when we log into them, and they do not say how they keep our files secure.
Easy of use
When we were logged in we found ourselves inside our Koofr account, which is equipped with a 2GB storage. An empty folder named “New folder” was already created. Of course, we can delete that folder.
The main screen is split in two sections. In the right section we see the contents of an account, and in the left section we see a list of options: We add more services by clicking on the “Connect” option, and then selecting the service that we want to connect to. The process is straight forward, and we can add more than one accounts from the same cloud service.
Browsing
All connected accounts appear at the top of the list, in the left section. Nonetheless, right click on that list has no affect at all, and we can modify a linked account from a different place. At the right end of the screen we find a button with our initials, we click on it and we get a list of actions, we then click on the “Places” link, and we get the list of connected accounts.
In that new page, we see the available storage of each linked account. We also see buttons to Rename and Remove an account. Finally at the bottom of that page, we find links to add an account from the supported services.
We see the contents of an account / folder by clicking on it. Right click on a folder / file reveals a menu with actions to Rename, Delete, Copy and Move that folder / file. One thing that is worth mentioning here is that we can choose to view a specific version of a file. Still, that option did not work when we tried. Maybe we chose files that haven’t been modified, but, still, we should have seen their first version.
At the right end of each file/folder we see the “Share” button. With this button we share files within the Koofr site. Namely, a user will see the file/foder that we shared when that user clicks on the “Shared” option.
Transferring
We can not transfer a file/folder by dragging & dropping it. Instead we select the “Copy” action, and we then select the account / folder that we want that item to be copied to. There is no progress bar to indicate the progress of the coy operation.
We click on the “+” button, in the top right corner to upload a local file/folder, to create a new folder or to create a txt file. We have no control on the name of that txt file, but, we can rename it after it is created.
Efficiency
It is extremely easy to browse folders and to transfer files/folders between accounts. More importantly, Koofr has a mobile (both iOS and Android) and a desktop version (Mac, Linux and Windows).
Finally, Koofr supports the following cloud services:

- OneDrive
- Amazon Drive
Cost
It is free to add accounts, browse them and transfer files. In the free version we are given a 2GB storage. We can increase that storage to 8GB by inviting our friends to open an account at Koofr. Yet, if we still need more space we can upgrade to one of the paid versions.
